@maryc.129 Fall Dessert: Apple Roses 🍎🌹 these are a fun and beautiful treat that celebrates the season to come! It’s such a great way to make art with your food and it’s delicious too! ☺️ Ingredients: (makes 6 roses) *1-2 red delicious apples *1 lemon *2 Tbsp white sugar *1 Tbsp brown sugar *2 tsp cinnamon *pinch of salt *1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed *2 Tbsp melted butter *powdered sugar for dusting *caramel drizzle (I used Mrs. Richardson’s brand of jarred caramel) 1. Preheat the oven to 375F 2. In a small bowl, mix together white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon and a pinch of salt and set it aside 3. In a medium size bowl, fill with water and squeeze the juice of one lemon (this will help keep the apple slices from turning brown) 4. Cut your apples in half and then removed the core and stem 5. Using a knife or mandolin slicer, cut very thin slices (if you cut them too thick, they will break when you roll them into the rose shape) 6. Place the slices in the bowl of water and lemon and pop it in the microwave for 3-4min or until the slices have softened enough to bend and roll without breaking 7. Drain the apple slices and set aside 8. On a floured surface, roll out your thawed puff pastry sheet to roughly 12×9 inches and mark 2inch strips with a ruler. Then cut the strips with a knife or pizza cutter. (You should have 6 strips that are 2x9inches) 9. Brush each strip with melted butter and sprinkle on the cinnamon sugar 10. Leaving a small section of pastry on each end of the strip, place a row of apple slices on the top half of each strip with the skin side up, keep the bottom half open so you can fold it later. Place a second row of apple slices between each slice from the first row. 11. Fold the bottom part of the puff pastry street and roll them to form roses. Pinch the edges to seal 12. Place them in a muffin tin and bake at 375F for about 35-40min 13. Allow to cool and the dust with powdered sugar and drizzle on warmed caramel (would be great served with vanilla ice cream too!) #bakewithme #cozy #autumn #fallrecipe #apples
